About Us
SkillTree Strategic Consulting was conceived to provide strategic and operational support and consultation to small and medium businesses and non-profit organizations. Entities that are just getting started or are looking to adapt their operations to fit their growing needs are often very knowledgeable about their products or services but lack the expertise to develop the business structure to support their work. Because they lack supportive business expertise, they might struggle to operate effectively and efficiently.
Our mission is to help evolve small to medium businesses and non-profit organizations into their next stage. We do this by helping our clients to adopt and promote a culture of strategic decision making via the conscientious and customized application of methodologies that promote the long-term health and sustained growth of their organizations.
Darryl Odom
Darryl is a serial entrepreneur with decades of experience in the arts and sciences. He began as a freelance artist and expanded into the founding and directorship of a recording studio, art gallery, magazine, film production company and more.
He pursued education in biology, psychology, epidemiology and mathematical modeling and applied this knowledge to research, analysis, and investigation roles in health departments and academic research centers.
His interests are diverse with a passion for invention, teaching, and writing. He is a consistent and contentious leader and mentor with an emphasis on talent development and operations improvement.
Leslie Mahlmeister
Leslie has a passion for exploring possibilities with entrepreneurs. Growing up in a small business family, she learned early on how to make the most of whatever resources are available. Leslie has studied organizational management and change strategies in public and private settings throughout her career. Her energies have focused on helping leaders understand how efficient and effective their operations are and what they can do to improve. She has also had the honor and pleasure of leading groups of people through change, from small worksite arrangements through massive organizational and environmental shifts. She truly understands and appreciates the complexities of operating small organizations and the effort it takes to leap forward.
Jason Matthews
Jason is a technical creative that leverages his ability to problem solve to help others “see the forest through the tree”. Problems are a welcome challenge for him. As he looks for the story in the problem to move towards a solution. His process hinges on independent thinking and discernment as its cornerstone. You need to be able to “trust the data and trust your process”.
With time spent in the arenas of Automotive, Cybersecurity, Entrepreneurship, and the Arts he positions himself as repository of cross functional knowledge. His experience allows him to help in the “Create, Build, Scale” process.
